Tennis

Tennis is a racket sport that can be played individually against a single opponent (singles) or between two teams of two players each (doubles). It takes place on a rectangular court divided by a net, and the objective is to hit a lightweight, hollow rubber ball covered with felt over the net into the opponent’s side of the court, where they must attempt to return it. Points are scored when the opposing player fails to return the ball within the prescribed boundaries of the court. The game is played in a series of sets, and a match can be won by the player or team that first wins a predetermined number of sets. Tennis is known for its significant use of strategy, agility, and precision. The sport is governed by international rules and has a rich history, with major tournaments including the Grand Slam events: the Australian Open, the French Open, Wimbledon, and the US Open.
