Handball is a team sport in which two teams of seven players each (six outfield players and a goalkeeper) attempt to score by throwing a ball into the opposing team’s goal. In France, handball has a strong national league system, and the country has been successful in international competitions, producing many of the world’s top players and teams. The sport is governed by the French Handball Federation (FFHB) and is played at various levels, from amateur to professional. French Handball not only emphasizes athletic skills but also teamwork, strategy, and agility. It has seen significant growth in viewership and participation, thanks in part to France’s success on the international stage, including winning numerous European Championships and World Championships.
